Overview
A 10DLC use case (also called a Campaign) defines the purpose and type of messages your business sends to end users. Properly configuring your use case ensures compliance with carrier regulations, supports appropriate message throughput, and reduces the risk of filtering or spam classification.
Step 1: Select a Brand
Before creating a use case, you must select the Brand it will be associated with.
- Choose an existing Brand from the list, or
- Click Create One Here to register a new Brand

Step 2: Choose a Use Case Type
Select the use case type that best matches your messaging purpose. Each type includes specific requirements and pricing.
Common Use Case Types
- Low Volume Mixed – Low-volume messaging across multiple use cases
- Mixed – High-volume messaging with multiple use case categories
- Customer Care – Account management and support communications
- 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) – Security codes, password resets, one-time logins
- Account Notification – Alerts and reminders related to user accounts
- Delivery Notification – Updates on product or service delivery
- Fraud Alert Messaging – Fraud and suspicious activity alerts
- Higher Education – Messaging for colleges and universities
- Machine-to-Machine – Automated system-to-system messaging
- Marketing – Promotional and advertising communications
- Polling – Surveys and non-political polling campaigns
- Public Service Announcement – Awareness messages for public issues
- Security Alert – Notifications related to system security
Step 3: Provide Use Case Information
Complete the required fields:
- Display Name – A clear name for your use case
- Description – Explain what messages will be sent and why
- Call to Action (CTA) – Describe exactly how users opt in or provide consent
Important: If multiple opt-in methods are used (e.g., website, SMS keyword, in-person), include all of them.Step 4: Configure Use Case Attributes
Select the attributes that describe your messaging content.
- Ensure all attributes are accurate and reflect your actual use case
- Incorrect information may result in registration delays or suspension
Tip: Use the Help (?) icon within the portal for detailed descriptions of each attribute.Step 5: Add Messaging Content
Provide sample messages and keywords:
- Include realistic examples of the messages you will send
- Add relevant keywords associated with your campaign
These samples help carriers understand your messaging profile and detect abnormal traffic patterns.
Helpful Tool: Use the Opt-In Message Wizard (found under Messaging) to generate compliant opt-in language.Step 6: Submit Your Use Case
- Review all details for accuracy
- Click Submit to send your use case for approval
What’s Next
- Your use case will be reviewed by The Campaign Registry (TCR) and carriers
- Once approved, you can assign numbers (DIDs) and begin messaging
